A new adventure for 2 of our club members.

By Kara O'Donnell

Today Ian and Zubie Chaston leave Birmingham and head to their new home in Jersey.

We’re sad to be starting the next season without two pivotal members of the club as they move to their new home in Jersey. Ian Chaston and Zubie Chaston have been invaluable to the clubs development and growth since becoming members of Five Ways.

As well as a valuable member of the team, Ian has served 2 seasons as the Men’s first team captain. He, for all his sins, has also been a dedicated coach to the Ladies team handing out coaching advice such as “be better if you caught the ball” and “just try running faster”.

Zubie was an integral member of the Ladies team and was involved as Captain and Team Manager throughout her time on the team. She has invested a lot of her time as a volunteer, recently focusing heavily on developing a Junior Girls section and introducing Micros rugby. The club will also continue to benefit from the flood lights Zubie worked very hard to get and all this is just to name a few things.

We wish them all the luck with their new home, new jobs and new addition to their family.

Come back and visit us soon!
